Why Suffering is the Secret to Success

About this prayer

Heavenly Father, In this afternoon hour, when the weight of the day presses upon my shoulders, I come before You with an honest heart. The burdens I carry feel heavy—the worry that steals my peace, the relationships that remain broken, the financial pressures that keep me awake at night, and the fear of what tomorrow may bring. Lord, You have said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Today, I take You at Your word. I lay down my anxiety about providing for my family, my frustration with unanswered prayers, and my exhaustion from trying to control what only You can change. When loneliness surrounds me and I feel unseen, remind me that “You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). When I struggle with doubt and my faith feels small, help me remember that You are “the author and perfecter of my faith” (Hebrews 12:2). Father, I confess the moments I’ve tried to carry these burdens alone, forgetting that “Your grace is sufficient for me, for Your power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
