Zephaniah 3:17 KJV

Why Loneliness Is The Biggest Problem In The World Right Now

Dear God, I’m sitting here tonight, and the loneliness feels like a weight on my chest. The house is quiet, my phone isn’t ringing, and it seems like everyone else has somewhere to belong while I’m just… here. Alone. Forgotten. Unwanted.

About this prayer

Dear God, I’m sitting here tonight, and the loneliness feels like a weight on my chest. The house is quiet, my phone isn’t ringing, and it seems like everyone else has somewhere to belong while I’m just… here. Alone. Forgotten. Unwanted. I know You see me, Lord, but sometimes it’s hard to feel it. Sometimes it feels like even You are distant, like my prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling instead of reaching Your heart. I think about Elijah under that broom tree, so overwhelmed and isolated that he asked You to just let him die. Here was this mighty prophet who had called down fire from heaven, and yet he felt utterly alone. But You didn’t scold him for his despair - You sent an angel to feed him, let him sleep, and then whispered to him in a gentle breeze. You met him right where he was. In his loneliness. In his pain. Lord, I need You to meet me here too. In this ache that feels too big for my heart to hold. In these moments when I wonder if anyone would even notice if I disappeared. In this desperate longing to matter to someone, to be chosen, to be seen as valuable. Remind me that You knitted me together in my mother’s womb with purpose. That You have thoughts toward me…
