When the path ahead is unclear

About this prayer

Lord, I’m standing at a crossroads tonight, and I honestly don’t know which way to go. The signs aren’t clear, the voices around me are pulling in different directions, and my own heart feels torn between what seems safe and what might be Your calling. I think about young Samuel in the temple, hearing Your voice but not recognizing it was You. Three times he ran to Eli, thinking the old priest was calling him. Sometimes I wonder if You’re speaking and I’m just… missing it. Running to everyone else for answers when You’re right here, waiting for me to be still and listen. Father, I need Your wisdom more than I need my next breath. This decision feels so big, so permanent, so beyond my ability to figure out alone. I’ve made lists, weighed pros and cons, asked friends for advice, but none of that has brought the peace I’m searching for. You guided the Israelites with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. They always knew when You were moving because Your presence made it unmistakable. Lord, I need that kind of clarity. Not necessarily a burning bush or an audible voice - though I wouldn’t mind either - but that deep, settled knowing that comes only from You. Close the doors…
