When All Hope is Lost, Prayer Works

Gracious God, When I am afraid, I put my trust in You (Psalm 56:3). Right now, fear threatens to overwhelm me, but You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Lord, You are my shepherd—I shall not want. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me (Psalm 23:1, 4). Your presence is my comfort. When I feel alone in my struggles, remind me that You will never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:6). You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Father, I’m tired of carrying these burdens alone. Your Son said His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30). Teach me to surrender control and find freedom in depending on You. When I’m tempted to lose hope, help me remember that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). This season of pain is temporary, but Your faithfulness endures forever. Strengthen me, Lord. Those who hope in You will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles (Isaiah 40:31).
