The Power of Prayer: A Vision for Purpose

About this prayer

Gracious God, Like the psalmist who proclaimed that Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, I come seeking illumination for the journey ahead. Breathe into me as You breathed life into Adam in the garden—let Your Spirit awaken what has grown dormant, restore what feels broken, and create in me a clean heart, as David pleaded after his own brokenness. When I am weary, remind me of Your promise that those who wait upon You shall renew their strength, that they shall mount up with wings like eagles. Let me not grow faint in doing good, for in due season comes the harvest if I do not give up. Open my eyes to see as Isaiah saw—Your glory filling the temple, Your holiness calling me to purpose. Yet let me also remember the sparrows You notice, the lilies You clothe, the very hairs You have numbered. If You care for these, how much more do You care for me. Transform my mind as Paul urged the Romans, that I might discern Your good and perfect will. Make my faith as the mustard seed—small perhaps, but capable of moving mountains. May I love mercy, do justly, and walk humbly with You, O God. In hope and trust,
