Overcoming Temptation: The Strength of Faith

Heavenly Father, As Jesus withdrew to the wilderness and faced the tempter’s voice with unwavering faith, grant us that same steadfast spirit when trials come our way. When the desert of temptation surrounds us and whispers seek to turn our hearts from what is good and true, be our refuge and our strength. Give us the wisdom to recognize deception wrapped in false promises, and the courage to respond with Your truth as our Savior did. When hunger—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—would make us vulnerable to shortcuts and compromises, remind us that we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from Your mouth. When pride tempts us to test Your faithfulness or seek power through ungodly means, humble our hearts and help us choose the path of service over the illusion of control. Let us worship You alone, finding our identity and worth in Your love rather than in the fleeting approval of this world. Strengthen us to endure, knowing that every temptation faced with faith makes us more like Christ.
