About this prayer
Prayer for starting a new job: when your new badge feels strange, ask God for help listening, learning, and taking the first step. “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:6, KJV. The gleaning scene illustrates Ruth 2:2–3. Proverbs is a separate passage; Ruth is not represented as its speaker. Prayer asks for guidance and a teachable spirit; it does not guarantee job success, promotion, safety, colleagues’ approval, an easy first day or a timeline. Use the private check-in to name one thing you can ask or learn on your first day.
